DownCity Helps Crack DES-II

At 02:26 GMT on Monday, 23 Feb 1998, the members of distributed.net won the DES-II challenge by finding the secret key (76 9E 8C D9 F2 2F 5D EA) that unlocked the encrypted text, "The secret message is: Many hands make light work." Work on the RC5-64 challenge has already resumed (see below). DownCity's press release has more info.

Help Us Crack RC5-64

DownCity is taking part in distributed.net's effort to win the RC5-64 contest, in which thousands of computers are working together over the Internet in their "spare time" to crack an encrypted message. Anyone with a computer and access to the Internet can join in the fun, so drop by www.distributed.net and join us.
